Yes, today begins the inevitable, long, slow slide into the darkness of winter. The days will be increasingly shorter, the temperatures increasingly colder, and soon enough we'll be scraping frost off  the windshield and shoveling driveways and sidewalks.

Sigh...

Unless, of course, you live in the Southern hemisphere, in which case, enjoy spring, you jerks.
